How to make Vanilla Cake

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C, lightly grease your cake tin with margarine and place the cake liner on the base of the pan.

Step 2

Place all the ingredients in your mixing bowl and beat with the hand-mixer or whisk until smooth. Be careful not to overbeat!

Step 3

Pour the mixture into the tin and sit on the middle shelf of the oven for 45-50 minutes until it's golden brown and has risen. Try inserting a metal skewer as it will come out clean if fully baked.

Step 4

Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes on a cooling rack before serving. Finish with icing sugar for the final touch.
