How To Pack Away Your Lay-Z-Spa Hot Tub
Properly packing down your Lay-Z-Spa for the season is a vital task to ensure it stays in top condition, but it is definitely not a quick job. You’ll need to put in the effort to clean and dry every component thoroughly to prevent damage during the months it isn't in use.
Where Should You Store A Lay-Z-Spa?
Most owners keep their hot tub in a garage or shed. It’s important to keep the components off the floor or on a wooden pallet. This helps protect them from dampness on the floor and stops insects or mice from getting in. Storing everything together in a dry, safe place will keep the hot tub in good condition for its next use.
How Do You Properly Pack Away Your Hot Tub?
Storing the liner and inflatable items in the original box offers the best protection. If the box isn't available, use a large plastic container for the liner, lid, top cover and fittings (the pump unit usually doesn't need a container). Since a folded liner can be heavy, it's advisable to have two people or a wheelbarrow to transport it to your storage area.
Never drag your hot tub on the ground, whether it is inflated or deflated, as this can cause permanent damage to the material.
Can You Store The Hot Tub While Still Inflated?
If you have enough room in a large garage or shed, you can choose to store the liner while it is still inflated rather than deflating it. Before doing this, you must ensure the tub is thoroughly cleaned and 100% dry to prevent deterioration. You should still keep the inflated liner raised off the ground and away from anything sharp that could puncture it, while keeping all other small parts in a safe, dry place.
