- If you're baking a delicious cake for a special occasion and will be using a lot of icing, this glycerine from Wilton® will be a useful tool. Use this to soften icing and restore texture and colour consistency to dried out icing. This is one product that any baker can't do without.
Wilton® Enterprises Inc. is the largest innovator in cake decorating and products. The company began in 1929 when its Founder Dewey McKinley Wilton opened a cake decorating and candy making school for caterers and chefs in a single room of his Chicago Illinois home.
In the early 1950s, the Wiltons decided to work on their first book, the Encyclopedia of Modern Cake Decorating, which sold 10,000 copies in its first printing. Consumers loved the book and wanted to purchase cake decorating supplies so that they could practice the techniques taught in the book; however, there were no vendors specialising in these items for the public. So in 1959, the Wiltons started a mail order business selling icing tubes, paste colours, decorating bags, parchment paper and metal turntables to the ordinary consumer.
Wilton® are synonymous for quality cake decorating products that will help to make the most complex designs and ideas seem so easy to execute.
